When can I start?

You can start today!  We offer classes seven days a week – simply find a class that meets your schedule and skill level.  There is no need to pre-register or make a reservation.


Plan to arrive about 15 minutes prior to the start of class to complete the New Student Registration Form  or print the form and complete prior to class.


Bring a yoga mat with you (or rentals are available for $2/day), plan to practice barefoot and wear comfortable exercise clothing.



What class do you recommend I start with?

We recommend that students who are new to yoga try an Intro to Yoga class to learn the basics.


Evening candlelight yoga is a great class for beginners to advanced students. This is a soft practice focused on quieting the mind and relaxing the body in preparation for blissful rest.


Students of all fitness levels with the desire for a moderately paced Yoga class for stress reduction and relaxation will enjoy our Basic Hatha Yoga.


Healthy Backs focuses on opening the hips and strengthening the core while improving flexibility from head to toe.  This practice is slow and gentle and suited for all levels.


Gentle Vinyasa Yoga is a perfect blend of relaxation and an intermediate slow flow of postures that encourage strength and flexibility.


Students in good physical health with yoga experience who are used to getting hot and elevating the heart rate will enjoy our Vinyasa Yoga class.


For students desiring a class focused primarily on core strengthening, try our Core Fusion class which is a combination of yoga and pilates.


We also offer Karma Yoga which is a Basic Hatha yoga class that is donation based. All donations go toward supporting charities in our community. Please give generously.


Can I do Yoga during pregnancy?

Absolutely!  Yoga enhances pregnancy, and allows a mother to bond with her baby before they even meet.  Nothing is more fulfilling than feeling your baby move due to a richly oxygenated blood flow which occurs during yoga practice.


An Intro to Yoga class is a safe place to start.  Always be sure to let the instructor know you are pregnant so appropriate modifications can be made during class.  We also offer Prenatal Yoga on Tuesday evenings.


Always check with your doctor or midwife to receive her/his full support before beginning any physical program.


Student Etiquette Items:

  • Please do not wear scented colognes, perfumes, or lotions to class as other students may be sensitive to heavy scents.
  • Refrain from eating a heavy meal 1-2 hours prior to class as digestion takes a tremendous amount of energy and can interfere with your practice.  Drink plenty of water before, during and after class.
  • Please plan to arrive 15 minutes prior to the start of class. Arriving a few minutes early will allow you to turn your focus inward and prepare for class.  If you do arrive late, please be as quiet as possible so as to not disrupt others.
  • Please turn cell phones and pagers to silent (not vibrate) before entering the lobby, or leave the device in your vehicle. Please respect our quiet place.
  • For everyone’s comfort and to allow personal attention to each student by the instructor, class size will be limited to 15 students. Arriving 15 minutes prior to the start of class will ensure you have a spot in class.
  • Please be sure to sign in at the front desk prior to entering the practice room.
  • Please remove shoes before entering the practice room and be prepared to practice barefoot.
  • Let the teacher know if there you have any health issues or are dealing with any injuries or chronic pain in your body.
  • Come with an open mind, open heart and enjoy the experience!
  • If you must leave early please do so before we take savasana (final relaxation pose).


Is yoga a religion?

Yoga is not a religion. It is a 5,000 year old science. Students at the Studio learn to find an inner spiritual peace (non-religious), strength and flexibility, which is useful to bring balance, joy and health to everyday life.


Will Yoga help me to manage stress and tension?

One of the fundamental aspects of the Studio is its emphasis on the development of a deep, complete breath.  This has a direct calming effect on the central nervous system and helps to release tension within the mind and body.


What if I am not fit or flexible?

At the Yoga Studio we encourage students to begin where they are. The health benefits of a Yoga practice are immediate. Students learn to accept and appreciate their body where it is now, with the new knowledge that Yoga is a journey, not a means to an end. Everyone has a beautiful body and mind to explore, expand, and heal though compassionate, skilled teaching.


How will I benefit from yoga?

Yoga’s greatest effect is on the mind. As a result of your practice at the Studio, you will experience greater calm and balance in your daily life. Yoga is a complete health maintenance program for the body and mind. A Yoga practice has the ability to help you tone and lengthen muscles, lose weight, relieve back pain, improve circulation, purify your internal organs, improve and regulate hormone production, and reduce stress. As a result, the workings of the body as a whole are improved.


How often should I practice Yoga?

At the Studio, we recommend a daily practice.  As little as 5 to 10 minutes a day has a huge impact on the quality of life. We encourage students to come into the Studio to practice with fellow Yogis and Yoginis and a qualified instructor as often as possible, but at least once per week.  Then take the skills you learn home with you to practice when away from the studio.


How are your Teachers trained?

All of our teachers are registered with a minimum RYT-200 designation through the Yoga Alliance which is the highest internationally recognized board.  We are also a teaching venue, hosting the 200 hour Essential Study of Yoga.


What does Namaste’ mean and why do you say it at the end of each class?

Namaste is a non-contact form of respectful greeting.  It means “The divinity in me bows to the divinity in you” or “I bow to your true self.”
