Julie Compton |
RYT |
Julie has been practicing yoga for 8 years; in 2004 she completed her teacher training with Katherine Lucas at Karma Yoga. She then quit her job of 15 years as a Licensed Veterinary Technician to begin her yoga teaching career.
Her background includes training in Ashtanga and vinyasa, and her heart leads her to study and practice the principles of Anusara yoga. Julie's classes are a mixture of all three disciplines choreographed to fun and uplifting music. "We should learn to bring fun and joy into our own lives so that we can give away fun and joy more freely off of our mats."
Julie has been inspired by many teachers, but she is most inspired by her students -- to see them leave the studio with smiles on their faces as well as in their hearts is priceless. |

Tanis Redd |
RYT |
Tanis discovered the joy of practicing yoga in the summer of 1999 when she was searching for a low impact workout. With her newly found enthusiasm for Yoga, she soon began substitute teaching for her yoga instructor through Romeo and Washington Parks and Recreational Center. To further enrich her experience, she ventured into the yoga studios with a variety of teachers that continued to inspire her passion in yoga. These interactions lead her down a path to further develop her yoga practices and teaching skills, from 2004-2005 she completed the Yoga Teacher Training Program with Michael Johnson at Updog Yoga Center of Rochester and is currently a Registered Yoga Teacher through the Yoga Alliance.
In addition to yoga, Tanis has over 20 years of experience in the automotive
industry at General Motors Vehicle Engineering Center, which she feels draws a parallel to her yoga. These many years working with technical precision and extensive methodology training have served as a firm foundation for which she has built her development of yoga practice and style of teaching upon. |
